Mt. Dora Doodlebug

Mt. Dora Doodlebug
Visitors to the Orlando area may want to check out the Mt. Dora Doodlebug, which provides a neat sight-seeing ride through the beautiful Mount Dora area near Orlando on a cool 1920's motorized rail car, sometimes called a "Trolley".
Ticket Office
The old-fashioned ticket office is itself a retired rail car.
Awaiting restoration
Another "Doodlebug" sits on a siding awaiting restoration.
The conductor explains the Doodlebug I-75 viewed from the 'Bug
This is a very neat experience, especially for kids and younger adults who don't remember the old trolleys which used to run in many cities.
The Motorman
The car has controls at both ends, and the Motorman moves from one end to the other, depending on which way the car is going.  The conductor keeps up a friendly dialog with the passengers explaining things about the car and the route.

Beautiful view of Lake Dora from the Doodlebug.
