Cedar Key is a quiet,
out-of-the-way fishing town; an island located on the west coast of
Florida mid-way between Tallahassee and Tampa. This sleepy town of
800 full-time residents provides some motels and cafes, plus many
interesting shops to provide tourist services.
The main activity in Cedar Key is boating and fishing, and there are ample provisions for both in the town. Several festivals during the year bring thousands of tourists to town for brief intervals. If you're looking for quaint and quiet entertainment, Cedar Key may be your place. |
![]() One thing Cedar Key has an ample supply of Pelicans. They're everywhere, and a lot of fun to watch, but visitors are asked not to feed 'em. Seems that they're smart enough not to catch a fish they can't handle, but if given a too-large fish, they'll try to eat it, and can strangle and die. |
